Luke McCown should ask for a trade. Posted on May 4, 2009 by thebucman Starting minutes after our first draft pick was made. It started to look more and more apparent that Raheem Morris. Had already made up his mind that Josh Freeman would be our starter come opening day.
As a NFL head coach the first thing you want to do is make your #1 QB the head of the body. Feel the most comfortable and relished as you possibly can. And the only QB that has had that done for them is Freeman. The only thing said of McCown is he will have a chance to compete for the job. The same as Leftwich oh and he also had Josh Johnson and Brian Griese is in the wings.
And what I am saying is that our coach is saying is that Luke and Byron will compete for second place and the loser and Josh will compete for third. Greise is gone (my opinion) and the loser of third with him I mean not as in verbally saying the words. But with all the sneaky things that have surfaced I don’t think he can be trusted at all as far as what he says.
From 03/30/09 till now the only remarks Morris has made about McCown is that he will have his chance to be the starter.(That info I researched at Buccaneers.com) There has been nothing positive about McCown said. (except by his fellow players) That was the start of the first 3 day minicamp And was said we need more competition at QB to push him. He needs to take charge.
And now at the end of the second minicamp I find a article that contains this. We had to get another arm in here to play quarterback," Morris said. "We happened to run into an athlete and he showed some stuff during special-teams periods. He’s a 6-footer who’s 220-pounds, moves around pretty good. You want to try to find stuff. I’m a project guy so I want to see if I can get me a project guy in here to work with. (QB Landers)http://blogs.tampabay.com/bucs/2009/05/tryout-qb-catches-buccaneers-attention.html
So let me get this straight we have 5 QB’S on the roster right now. Four with great arm strength and one that can’t throw past 20 yards accurately and we need more? Remind you of anyone? (AKA JON GRUDEN) The point I am trying to make here is Morris just cant say enough good things about his dream boy.
And if he can pull it off with out hurting his job Josh Freeman will be the starter when we play Dallas and McCown will once again be pacing the sidelines with the Clip board in his hand wondering if he made a mistake by not moving on when he had the chance. I hope I am wrong but I am a pretty good judge of character and Morris seems to have very little of it from what I see. My only hope is I am wrong but I doubt it .
